Last Tacos

I joined Chad for another toasty techy taco ride (the riding was hot, not the tacos!).

It was business as usual — following Chad through crazy overgrowth, on trails long swallowed by monsoon frenzied greenery. It threw him for a loop at first, trying to show me some obscure and new-to-me trails, but eventually we made it to the goods.

Rocks and mayhem abound. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

The young Eric is back on the bike after a long hiatus. Guy’s got some skill, though he struggled a bit with a busted chainring and other mishap.

We all took several stabs at the staircase (which continues stage right with 4-5 more stairs). Eventually I unlocked a piece of the puzzle and made it around the corner, up the next 3, only to fail on the last one. Heat and exhaustion seemed a valid excuse to head taco-ward at that point.

It was good to get one last hot ride in before pointing the Corsica north for cooler pastures. The sneeze attack that hit me after dropping into one of the drainages gave me even more reason to head out of town. Something that is growing (and what isn’t?) is not agreeing with me.
