Slack

I’ve fallen slack in updating here, not because there’s nothing to write about, but that there’s too much to write about and not enough time!

Lee and I successfully completed a traversal of the Camino Del Diablo from Ajo to Yuma, AZ. It was an awesome ride. Pictures and a full writeup will be forthcoming. As far as we know, no one has biked the route end-to-end before. The only problem out there is sand….

Paula and I just got back from a road trip to the 3M half marathon in Austin, TX. It was a good, if exhausting, trip. I got to ride Emma Long City Park on the Behemoth (after following the race by bike), plus some good rides in the Franklin Mountains of El Paso. The rest of Texas was a little boring, though we did spend a nice night camping near Sonora, Texas.

Today was my first ride back in Tucson and it left a mark. All I did was head out to loosen up my legs on suburban assault. I flatted coming down the singletrack (a nail was lodged in my tire) only to discover that my spare was flat. Patching the spare yielded a few minutes of riding before it went flat again. Repeat until I was near enough home to give up and ride the rim home.

The downs just make the ups seem higher. Or something like that.
