Bent my Suburbo

More offroad recumbent fun today. This isn’t mountain biking, but it sure is fun. It’s a whole new challenge and is forcing me to learn new skills. I love it.

I managed to clean three or four sections that I dabbed, didn’t even try or crashed on last time. That’s progress. That’s awesome. It’s not so important where you are (you can only begin there), but that you are actively applying yourself (improving). Once you’ve done something for long enough, improvement comes more in mental resilience and intelligence. That’s often hard to gauge. But for me, having first ridden a recumbent two weeks ago, skill developement is progressing in leaps and bounds, and I’m loving every minute of it.

I’m learning how to crank this sucker up, too. I caught and passed a couple of lycra-clad roadies. When I started out it seemed like I could only go 13-14 mph. Climbing with Alan on his road bike I noticed he was breathing harder than I was. Maybe climbing on a recumbent isn’t so bad….

It was a perfect morning (they all have been lately). The cloud cover begged me to ride longer. Humidity it fine with me as long as the sun isn’t out to cook.

Here’s a few pics.
