Hopped on the river trail and took it to the west end, 3500 W River, the Pima County Rec offices. There was a meeting about the new Indian Kitchen regional park. The park will be somewhat small and doesn’t include a lot of topo, but the trails will be designed for racing bikes (as well as walking and horse back riding). It’s interesting to see the process that all of this goes through. I will have to get out and check out the area in person some day soon. I didn’t have much to contribute to the meeting (I am more concerned in the actual layout of the trails), but it was very interesting.
It was nice to actually find the river trail very useful for once. It took me exactly where I needed to go. I wonder how many Pima County employees use it to get to work (the river trail is, afterall, a county park). My guess, based on the 4 empty bike racks: zero. Nice cloud formations as I headed east and back home. Heralds of the incoming storms.
