TopoFusion Pro / Re: Remove PhotoFusion option

Thanks Scott,

The idea was as you mentioned; to quickly revert to a 'clean' file when something does not work.  I'm very good at finding what does not work ha ha but I think I've got it figured out now -- like the need to re-size full res pictures I link on the web to a more reasonable size.  But no worries if it's not worth adding a 'clear PF' feature.

Hey Larry,

Glad to hear you are finding PhotoFusion useful!

So by remove PhotoFusion do you mean to delete the waypoints with photos in them?  The placed photos are just waypoints so you can go to "File Properties"->"Waypoints" and even sort by 'type' to see all the "Photo" ones, then shift click to select them all and hit the delete key.

I could see having a handy 'remove button' in the PF dialog, I guess, especially if you are doing multiple tries or just want to clear the file.  Wouldn't be too hard to add.  Thanks for the post.

Hi Scott,

I've discovered how slick PhotoFusion is for the documentation I do as part of Forest Service volunteer work. It saves a lot of text trying to explain what's what and where. One feature that would be handy would be a 'remove PhotoFusion' button where I might want to re-use the .gpx file but without PF.  I can do it with Notepad ++ but this would be easier. Or maybe the remove option is already there and I didn't find it!

Of course. An obvious toggle in plain sight on the menu bar.
Next I should ask if Topofusion can be used to shows maps. ;)

TF is still far and away the most useful single GPS/Mapping tool I am aware of.

Hey Ken,

I need to default the track label to off.  It seems the way to toggle it is not obvious.  It's on the toolbar or in the toggles menu.  "Show Track Names."

Next version I'll have it default off.

Thx for the post and for continuing to use TF!

Track label functionality seems to have changed in some recent version. I can't find a way to get rid of them when they are blocking a portion of the view.
What am I missing?
My sense is that toggling them on/off with a right click on a blank portion of screen would be intuitive to me.

Thanks

Yep, there's another way to 'merge' files which is at the file level.  If you select any number of files in the Active File List you can then right click and choose "merge files and save as..." which will combine everything: tracks, waypoints and all.

Is there an easy way add a track to a file without it joining/merging existing tracks.  The only way I've been able to do it is using Notepad.  For example, I have one file with 36 distinct tracks (derived from a shapefile) that I want to add additional tracks without connecting them.
Thanks,
Geoff

Feature Requests / Re: Correction for wrong date, Garmin Geko 301
« Last post by Larry on March 14, 2021, 05:18:20 PM »
Thanks Scott!

What's odd is that my Geko 201 has always worked properly since I got it ~2004 I as I remember. (I've kept the software current.) It sill works just fine with TF using the current 2.70 software. I've tried re-installing the current software in the 301 but the date problem remains.

The  301 has a barometer / altimeter and an electronic compass both of which work very nicely so I'm thinking of using the 301 on the trail from now on.

Larry

Ps: the date displayed by the 301 is wrong and it is that date that TF also displays.  For whatever reason the 201  unit displays the correct date
