There are some big rocks along the Rillito Path that I usually ride over whenever I pass by. A couple are just big enough that I feel uneasy on either the “up” or “down.”
So I repeated one until it became second nature.
Training. Of a wholly different sort.
I now own a Power Tap wheel for use on my Lev. Only catch is I can’t use it with a rear brake (yet). Again, training of a still different sort.
So, Chad tagged me, and I guess I’ll participate halfway. The Rules (according to Chad): List 6 random things about yourself that most people do not know, then tag 6 more people and post their links.
Three things most people don’t know about me:
1) As a teenager, I was terrible at all sports, uncoordinated and dorky. Mountain biking was the only athletic endeavor that wasn’t a complete disaster. A lot of people say they weren’t good at sports, but I went beyond that. I was on my little brother’s baseball team, giving me a 2 year advantage, and I was still the worst on the team.
2) Many of my first epic rides were full of hike-a-bike. I remember pushing my bike to the top of the “Big Beacon” with my brother Alan as one of our first big rides. I found it strange when I first met riders who disliked hiking. To me it was part of the deal.
3) I once won a badminton tournament. I flew to the Boston area when in college to participate in a big tournament with people who take badminton very seriously. I had a secret weapon, though, my friend Kate from Russia, who was born and raised on badminton. I would serve and pretty much get out of the way as she crushed all our opponents. It was fun. I entered singles, too, and got absolutely smoked. That was fun too.
I tag:
Mike, because I know he’s least likely to participate.
Pete, for the same reason.
And, finally,
Chad. Tagged back! Ha!
Thanks to those that helped spread the word about the TF sale. It’s a new thing for me, but it seems to have worked out well. Turns out there were quite a few of you waiting to get the full version. Thanks for the support.
Uh oh…Scott is talking about “training” on his blog.
