TopoFusion HQ has officially moved to Golden, Colorado from its previous hidey hole in Tucson, Arizona. By TopoFusion HQ, of course, I mean myself, Paula and my small array of bicycles. HQ fits in a small sedan with three bikes on top. We’re small, mobile and intelligent. Or something like that.
It’s hot in Tucson. Summer is tolerable, but too long. So we’ve fled northwards. Mountain biking is close at hand. In fact it seems all of Denver comes to Golden just to ride. I really enjoy having five different, quality rides, all within easy riding distance from home. It’s almost too good to be true.
Of course it is too good to be true. My legs are so drained from the spring’s adventures that I’ve found I can’t ride like I want to. There’s just too much climbing in them thar hills of Golden. Either that or I’m a wimp. Probably more the latter than the former.
I’m dreaming of a thru-ride on the Colorado Trail and various options have presented themselves for approaching it. Not sure what I’ll settle on, but I’ll probably go too early and with dead legs. And I’ll probably still love it.
Work on TopoFusion continues and the program is already improving in large ways this summer. The biggest reason it gets better is that I’m the biggest fan of the program. I’ve always got 200 ideas to add to it (not to mention another 200 user requested ideas). It can be hard to decide how to direct my energy towards it, but it’s almost always worthwhile. I really enjoy working on the program, and having a (relatively) large group of users makes it even more worthwhile.
In the meantime, I’ve got trails to explore, GPS tracks to collect. I’ve got trails right out my door that I don’t even have GPS tracks for. Gotta get to ridin’…
