My allergies on evening rides are still not being very kind. It was tolerable today, but sneezing while riding is generally a bad sign.
I watched the shadows grow on Pontotoc Ridge as I climbed towards the “Dick McGee” trailhead. I made it to the top of the switchbacks just in time to watch the sun fall behind the Tucson Mountains. There was also a couple on the top arguing and pacing around in the desert. It looked like they were looking at property lines on the neighboring houses. Perhaps you shouldn’t have built up here in the first place; that would have solved everyone’s problem with those ridiculous houses.
This time I could see on Pontotoc/Finger Rock trails, which made for some short but very challenging riding. I got a few strange looks from hikers, as usual.
Coasting down Alvernon at 30 mph I spied a Javelina crossing the road. In tow were what looked like a cat and two kittens. In reality they were just tiny baby Javelinas. I had no idea they were so small when young. They were all smaller than my cats. Cute little (stinky) buggers.
