Suburbo Assault this morning, with Al, including the Dick McGee trails Finger Rock and Pontotoc. Things were heating up, but it was a nice morning. I stunk it up fairly well on both trails, but Al cleaned a section that neither of us have ever done before.
Then I rode my bike over to vote in the bond election–say yes to open space. 30 years of debt here we come.
Al is soon to leave the desert for the pacific northwest. But first we are going to Mt. Graham yet again for a rematch with the Lady Bug trail and Arcadia climbs.
Backtracking…

On Sunday we toured Mt. Lemmon, including a short but nice hike on the Oracle Ridge. The mountain continues to change. Spring has begun to fade, making things look quite different. Residents and summer cabin-ites are well underway rebuilding as well.
At the Oracle Ridge trailhead I saw a group of guys affixing body armor and unloading bikes. I asked them what they were riding, but they had no clue. One guy thought Oracle Ridge was a hiker-only trail, another thought that the plan was to ride Oracle Ridge. I told them it was a 4 hour ride, minimum, to ride to Dan Saddle, out through the mine and then back up the mountain. Their jaws hung open to that for a while, then I suggested that they just ride out and back a mile or two. At the mine it was probably 96 degrees, where they would have to climb ~3000 feet to get back up. I think they instead decided to just ride the control road, who knows.
It was great to have my family here for a visit. They are too much fun.
