Edit: what DEM file formats supported?
« on: April 15, 2009, 07:10:53 PM »
I've got some custom DEM files that I've derived from LIDAR data, where do I put them to use the climbing tool to apply that local data to the track I've created?

also, what formats of DEM are supported?

edit: ok that's silly, I see its set under options, but I still wonder which DEM file formats are supported, Thanks!

edit2: my data is currently .arc.asc but I can convert it to a few other formats

Hi,

Yep, there's a specific DEM dir you can set.

As for types, the only supported is USGS ascii DEM.  There's some description about converting to it using 3DEM here:

Hope that helps.
