Title: Downloading Refresh?
Post by: BobBailey on February 19, 2009, 10:52:37 AM
I have a .gpx file that is open and the background says "Downloading" for a long time and then I get a msg about connections and firewalls. The file in question was first opened in TF when there was no internet connection. I toggled the download button to on.

The firewall is completely disconnected.

I have successfully used TF recently and had no problems. I upgraded to 3.71 in an attempt to fix this. No luck.

Any suggestions? Any way to get more status info?

You can look in the log file for more info.  There should be a shortcut to it in the TopoFusion area of the Start  Menu.

What tileset and where are you looking?  Can you send the GPX file so we can try it on our end?

Thanks.

Sent the GPX via email.

re tileset, the box in the URH corner says Topo 16M. In Options/Preferences/... lots of boxes are checked.

Never mind. Now it's working. I've been poking at this thing for an hour. All I had to do was ask you and it fixed itself magically.

Thanks....Bob

Topo maps are all downloading fast for me in that area, including 16M.

Just saw the next message!  I know the feeling -- doesn't work until someone else looks at it!!   ???  ;D

One other piece of info: Trend Micro Security has an option to "Prevent Unauthorized Changes" that seems a bit flakey. Sometimes I get a box that says that it has blocked "Library Injection" whatever that means. Ultimately I turned this off and everything seems to work better.

The thing that is irritating is that Trend Micro offers no help about setting exceptions. Maybe a new security product is due.
