downloading from a garmin device
« on: January 16, 2019, 02:51:55 PM »
Hello, I bought topofusion years ago to view tracks from my Garmin 301 ... still a great device, but it is having issues syncing w/my PC, so it may finally be time for an upgrade.  With the 301 I could import tracks from the device directly into topofusion.  Does this feature work with new Garmin devices, such as the Forerunner 645?

Hi Joe,

TopoFusion supports any of the newer Garmin devices that still plug in via USB.  Most of the new watches do not, though -- it's all ANT+ or Bluetooth.

Luckily it is easy to get a GPX file from Garmin's stuff, then plop that over to TF.  That's what I'd recommend.

Cheers
