Problems Downloading a .crs file from TF to Garmin Edge 305

I loaded the APC 116 .gpx file from the Yahoo Groups and in TF I saved it as a .crs file. I then tied to trasnfer it to my GPS by downloading the Track. The transfer completed but when I go to the Garmin and look in the Training/Course there is no new Course File there. I am not sure what got downloaded and where it is on my Garmin. I think I need the .crs file so during the race I can just "do" the course.

BTW I am using the Free version of TF.

I think the problem is when you saved a .gpx as a .crs.  They are different file formats.

Check TF's stats area -- does it show zero miles?  Save it as a .gpx and load it up in TF.  TF itself will upload the track as a course -- there's no need for it to be a CRS file.

Also, in TF speak, you are uploading *to* the GPS.

I am working on a tutorial for uploading tracks using TF and all the various GPS units out there.  Specifically written with stuff like AES races in mind.  I'll try to get it wrapped up soon.

Thanks for the clarification. The problem was that I was attempting to download to my GPS. Your reply highlighted that I should be uploading to my GPS. The course is in my GPS and I can see the map resembles that in TF. From a navigation perspective I am ready to tackle the 116 APC. I just hope I am ready physically.
