TIGER service discontinued

The TIGER tileset in TopoFusion Pro will no longer be able to download new tiles, since the service has been discontinued as of this week, June 1st, 2010.  Any tiles already downloaded in your map cache will always be available, but no new ones will download.  We will update the next version of TopoFusion to not attempt to download new TIGER maps so that the "TopoFusion is having trouble contacting..." error does not occur when in TIGER mode.

We will certainly watch for that service and look into incorporating it into a future version of TopoFusion.  In the mean time, our next version features much higher quality and more recent road data, in the form of maps from the Open Street Maps project:

Any news on when new color images will become available?

The color images are several years old, and logging roads that show up plainly on TopoFusion are overgrown and impassable currently.

Are you looking at the "Color" mode, or "Urban" ?  What state?

Most of the Color aerials in the Color tileset are only a few years old.  I do not know of any specific plans to update them, but the server does add new data at times.

And I know in what year some changes happened in a couple of areas, and the images are more than 5 years old.

And the area is Southwest Idaho.

OK, interesting.  I haven't heard of any that old in the tileset, but I am not too surprised.

He is right Northern Idaho same thing, all the tiles are 2004 and some near the clearwater forest are 2005 at the latest.

If there is a server with later color aerial would be nice to know. Some areas have no trees at all because of logging and look totally different than what was. Though I hate to download 50gb of Data again. lol
