Archived Support / Garmin 305 Data transfer problem
« on: October 07, 2006, 10:44:47 AM »
This is a great forum and product.  I've used it for a couple of years with different devices.  I couldn't figure out why my 1st walk using the 305 wouldn't show after a download.  Sure enough - the unit has to be reset first just as Colprit said above.  Then it downloads like the old 201.  Thanks again, Krein, for a great product and great support!

Beta Testing / Color Aerials Los Angeles
« on: February 13, 2005, 10:05:32 AM »
Krein, attached is a link to a map on the terraserver site.  This is exactly what I had showing for that brief period of time.  I definitely remember seeing "color aerial"  as a map choice within Topofusion.  On the site, it doesn't show up under the color aerial tab but is under the tab "urban area".

LA color aerial

Boy, do i feel dumb!  All I have to do is to choose "Urban" in the list box!  Sorry for this waste of time!

Beta Testing / Color Aerials Los Angeles
« on: February 01, 2005, 08:15:26 PM »
A few Betas back, I was able to choose color aerials for Los Angeles.  I can enable them in Preferences but they do not show up in the select box.  I can "uncheck" all the aerials and restart Topofusion and the aerials still are displayed and can be chosen despite being disabled.  Not sure if I've missed something?

Archived Support / Separate walking/Biking files
« on: October 23, 2004, 04:26:21 PM »
I thought i could install another copy of Topofusion on my PC so that I could just launch the "Walking" or the "biking" version depending on which one I was adding files to and I would not mix the two exercises together.  Two copies are evidently not allowed because the only options during install are "repair" and delete".  What is the best way to keep the exercises separate without having to select the walking or biking subfolder and then having to add all the exercises in that subfolder to the current file listing?

Not sure if I asked a dumb question.  Wondering why no answer?  I've hunted and pecked but have not been able to get the second exercise of the day to be seen in the logbook?

Archived Support / Multiple exercises on same day in logbook

I have a Forerunner 201 and a Foretrex 201 and have been wearing them both during the same exercise to check the accuracy between them and to also be able to add mileage of exercises I had done and logged in the Garmin logbook before I had Topofusion so my total mileage would be accurate.  I am able to download both data files into topofusion and the logbook total mileage reflects mileage from both devices.  However, I can only see data from one of the devices.  Is there a way to see the data from both?

Archived Support / convert xml
« on: June 05, 2004, 05:56:19 PM »
Is there a way to convert the stock Forerunner logbook exported XML files to GPX or another format that TopoFusion can import?  I want to keep all my walks in TopoFusion but I have 8 of them still in the original Forerunner logbook.  (I had this in the Beta testing area but it probably belongs here)

Beta Testing / map downloading issue

Geeze, I though I looked at all the button functions!  I must have missed it.  Sorry for wasting your time!

Beta Testing / map downloading issue
« on: May 24, 2004, 07:54:29 PM »
I am not sure if this is BETA related because up until a couple of weeks ago, new maps were downloaded with no issues.  I am now unable to download any photos or topos.  The background tiles indicate "downloading disabled".

Beta Testing / DEMs
« on: April 12, 2004, 08:08:08 PM »
Alan, I tried zooming and regen'ing.  All tiles in the view are now displayed but only the one original tile displays in true 3-D.  adjoining tiles have no depth.  if i rotate the view, it is as if im looking at a flat earth -there's a 1000 foot sheer drop down to the other tiles.  part of my route is actually on the non-3-d tile in addition to most of it being on the 3-d tile.

Alan, thanks!  I think what happened is that I was not in the MAP MODE and therefore not recording any tracks.  I'm starting to get to know how to use it now along with a Geko 301 and a 60 CS.  I didn't realize that the units all function and give data in real time but do not record unless set to do so.

Beta Testing / DEMs
« on: April 11, 2004, 09:08:21 PM »
Alan, thank you.  I unzipped and copied it to the Topofusion folder and 3-D now works.  Talk about eye candy!  Its pretty cool to be able to rotate the image!  Each end of my route extended into an area that did not get "3-D'd".  When I chose the particular file to download, it was represented as having an an area much larger than my route.   Do I assume that the DEM data file contained data that extended only to the portions of the route that showed in 3-D?  Also, I'm wondering how to display the solid elevation colors of the terrain as shown in the first few screenshots of the first post in the forum topic "3-D coming soon".  I have tried all the toggles and am wondering if that, too, is a function of DEM data file?

This program is truly a magnificent product!!

Beta Testing / DEMs
« on: April 11, 2004, 04:26:27 PM »
I downloaded a Burbank CA DEM from the Northridge University site. (http://130.166.124.2/ca_dems.2/)  It saved with a .DEM extension but shows as a GZ file.  I loaded it into the default TopoFusion directory and tried to see a 3-D view of a short walk in burbank but nothing happens.  Does this file need to be converted or?

Beta Testing / v1.7 and the Forerunner
« on: April 11, 2004, 11:04:32 AM »
Krein, I just made the purchase after trying Topo for a few weeks.  May I sign up for the beta trial of 1.7?  I'd like to be able to use the logbook feature with my forerunner 201.

Later in the same day, I got the file.  Thank you!
