TopoFusion Pro / Jpeg user map loading without proper totation
« on: March 02, 2020, 11:55:04 PM »
I have a jpeg taken with a Sony RX100M2 camera. File properties show the dimensions to be 3648W x 5472H. When I load this file as a user map, it is rendered in TF as rotated by 90 degrees. I then used Windows photo to actually rotate the image, but while the rotated image displays properly in photo and shows the proper width and height when the file properties are displayed, it is still rendered in TF rotated by 90 degrees. I think there is some information in the Jpeg file that the TF image transformation program is ignoring when it imports the file as the orientation I see in TF is what the camera saw. This is a photo of a large blueprint. I am running TF 5.57 on Windows 10 on a Lenovo W530 laptop.
Trying to fix this by doing a 3 point calibration is an incredible pain. I do not see an option in the User Map Library window to rotate the image. Is there a workaround?

Feature Requests / Re: Waypoints on elevation profile
« on: July 10, 2018, 11:21:31 AM »
I create lots of hand tracks to explore trails before trying to hike them. I use the profile tool to look at the elevation profiles. I was surprised to realize that when the cursor is in the profile, the coordinates of the current position are not shown, either in the track statistics or in the main window. If the coordinates were shown in either place, I and others could at least write them down and use them later to create waypoints. This would be a lot simpler than implementing a whole new dialog for the profile window. Currently my solution is to find the place I am trying to mark in the profile, then hold a pencil to the point on the screen where the current track marker is, them move the mouse cursor under the pencil point. Major PITA. Thanks, Jim Rhyne (very long time user of TopoFusion).

Archived Support / cotogps GPX files
« on: October 18, 2007, 10:54:56 AM »
I use cotogps running on Palm TX and Holux GPSlim BT to record tracks from MTB rides.
Cotogps has a GPX export facility, but it produces GPX that is not conformant with either GPX 1.0 or GPX 1.1. I wrote some XSLT that converts cotogps GPX output to GPX 1.1 and will be happy to send it to anyone who wants it or will post it here (is that OK, moderator?).

Archived Support / Files, Tracks and Track Segments
« on: October 18, 2007, 10:50:27 AM »
Forgive a newbie for possibly rehashing an old issue.
The GPX schema allows multiple named tracks in a file. TopoFusion appears to assume one track per file.  Can't expand files in the list to see individual track. Can't move/copy tracks between files. Distance and other measures are summarized by file, not by track.
I use files to package groups of tracks in an area for the purpose of planning trail rides. I hand edit original GPS tracks from rides to break them into individual trails (trail == track) to allow ride planning across multiple connecting trails. TopoFusion is excellent for this as I can use aerial photos and topos to help determine trail segment endpoints. Just wish it was easier to manage tracks and files.
