Archived Support / GPSmap 60C waypoints won't download
« on: February 15, 2005, 06:45:42 PM »
Just got a 60C. Tracks download fine. But the way points nearly always stop in the same spot based on the progress bar. Maybe 1 out of 20 tries will work. Mapsource, GSAK, and EasyGPS download the waypoints using USB okay. I downloaded 2.18 with the extra debug code, but the log shows nothing extra. If I have only 10 waypoints it works most of the time. 300 waypoints never works. Here is the error with 300 waypoints.
Hope that helps....

Archived Support / Bigger scale maps?

I've been working on getting an automated interface to get Topofusion tracks and waypoints into a format that I can load into MapPoint. I do it for getting my tracks and waypoints into a map with streets etc. mappoint will zoom out to show the US map...If you are interested, you could use the Topofusion SAVE AS option to save your track to a MapTech .TXF format then zip and email to me and I can create an example print with your tracks on it. If interested send me your email. Here is a small 600 mile trip at the us level.

I tried to append the 2 files, but the file layouts are different. If they both used the same number of fields and sequence that would be an easy solution. The .MFX outputs 5 fields and the .TXF only outputs 4 fields. But I understand, if MapTech needs different formats you should support them. I can still get what I need by reading both file types. Thanks for considering!   '<img'>

Yes, renaming the file works but it only has waypoints in the file, I was hoping it also would output the tracks along with the waypoints. Thanks

Boy I hate to ask for such a simple feature after all the GREAT features you have added to 2.17!! I'm impressed! I don't have auto routing on my GPS, so I use Microsoft MapPoint to plan/route my drives, but I use TopoFusion for all my track planning and points of interest (and geocaches).. Currently, I wrote a VB program to convert the GPX format for waypoints and tracks to a TEXT format to import into Mappoint. You currently support a MapTech Waypoint type. Mappoint is the same, except as a TXT, not MXF. Also, if there are tracks, output those along with the waypoints... format like latitude, logitude, elevation, name, description

Thanks for the great work on the wonderful product!
