Archived Support / Export to Print at Higher Resolution?
« on: October 14, 2004, 12:30:16 AM »
I am using topofusion to lay out a trail network that I'm designing for a set of new cross-country ski trails.  I need to insert exported images from topofusion into reports for the builders and owners.  Unfortunately, the only resolution I can get the images to export at is 72dpi and that resolution does not look very good when printed.

I understand that this is the screen resolution and that a lot of the problem lies in the fact that the maps only go to 1m resolution, but are there any tricks to make the exported images look better in print?  The aerial photos look OK, but the 3D images are pretty hazy looking due to the low resolution.  They look great on screen but washed out in print.

I have tried several different screen resolutions from 1280x1024 to 1800x1440 and the best results seem to come when I export from the high resolution screen and shrink the images down as much as possible.  This makes sense of course, because this is effectively increasing the resolution of the image.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for a great product and I hope that it is successful enough for you to continue to improve it.
