No the combo map has never worked.  I did quite a bit of troubleshooting including reseting all of the controls and the pulldown.  I'll send the logfile.

BTW: This is the greatest program ever.  I live in Colorado Springs and it's great for orienting where I've been and want to go on trail and off trail runs.

When I use combo mode, the mapping area is black.  I try to adjust the properties but to no avail.  Other views are fine.
