Feature Requests / Merge files feature request
« on: February 25, 2007, 06:35:40 PM »
This might already be in there somewhere....

When using the gps transfer feature, you get the option to merge the data you download - namely the track data and the waypoint data.   And that is great.

My problem now is I now have an Explorist 500, which shows up as removable drive (which is great) - and with Topofusion I simply browse to the 'removable drive' open the log file and I get my track, then I open my upt waypoint file and I get another file of just the waypoints.  And I can't seem to find a way to merge these 2 together (within topofusion)!

Again, I am probably overlooking something.  But if not,  I would love to see that as a feature '<img'>

Thanks!

Sweet drop in that video.  Pretty ballsy for the snow conditions, I'd say.  I was at Gooseberry Mesa a few weeks ago and the snow/ice turned me into the wimpiest rider on the planet.  So it goes.

I've been indulging in quite a bit of freestyle rock riding here in AZ lately.  Check out the diary for some pics:

http://www.topofusion.com/diary/

Anyway, the photo toggle is the little camera on the tool bar.  It's next to the toggle for tracks, waypoints, downloading, etc.  Also I should point out that you can move photos (waypoints) around with the 'select points' tool.  So you might be able to separate them a bit if you don't mind them not being in exactly the place you took them.

That place in the video is sooo much fun, a bunch of rollers and more skinnies than you could shake a stick at!  A few drops here and there to boot.  But Up until the past 2 weeks, we have had an amazingly mild winter, so riding has been great.  That 3 inches of snow in the vid was pretty much the first we have seen all year.   Plus there is no snow by the shore, so its all good!   Its nothing terribly exciting, but one of the guys on that ride threw this together:

And I just checked out your diary, looks like some fine riding out there.  The rocks look like a blast.  That snow must have been a trip though!  One of these days I will get out west.... The furthest west I have ever ridden was Jim Thorpe, PA ':p'

And... ok... yeah... I am pretty sure you just installed that little camera toggle button in the toolbar.  I swear I looked up there and saw nothing of the sort.  ####.  Sorry about that.

Again, thanks for your help, and for this excellent program!  I force everyone on crankfire that has a gps to check it out.

Sweet snow riding!  (OK, I'm sure you'd rather have dry trails...)

If you turn off the photo toggle it'll just show the photo icons as before.  Unfortunately you'll have to do "edit waypoint" and then "goto" to load the image.

We'll make it so it's one click (on the right click menu, as before) in the next version.  That'll be better.

You can zoom in to declutter, of course.

Off for a ride myself...

Yeah, the snow was fun for that ride, but making a "habit" of it grows a little old ;)  As grippy as it was that day, it does make you over-compensate a little more on some stuff....

Otherwise, I am having trouble figuring out how to "turn off the photo toggle" - it is probably right there in front of me, but I am not always the brightest bulb '<img'>

Thanks and sorry for being a pain.

Ahhh, got it.  Thanks!

Though is there a way to make it do what it did before?   Or to just have it pop open the thumbnails when you click the little photo icon?  Or even extend the thumbnail size option to the regular map?

Its getting a little cluttered for me!

Thanks!

There is a good chance I am missing something obvious, but I went for a ride today, took a few pics, downloaded everything all nice and used the photofusion with great success using v2.95 (or 2.85, whichever was the latest).

Then I upgraded to V3.0 Pro and the photofusion on that track (or any previous ones for that matter) is no longer working?  I checked the settings and everything seems fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

PS - v3.0 is nice.  Being an ex GIS guy I love the export to shapfiles deal!

i have a rino 110 i know i can't download maps to my gps but can i use topofusion to mark tracks and way points on my computer to use as scouting and hunting information?  if i can, can some body walk me through the steps?
thanks
Allen

I have a Rino 110 as well.

You can upload tracks and waypoints into it, the problem is the rino only accepts tracks of 100 points or less.   Otherwise it will truncate them.  Waypoints always seem to work fine though....

Though I have been having some troubles downloading off the gps into topofusion, it seems to freeze during the download - I usually restart everything and try again, it eventually gets it... '<img'>

Have not tried it with version 3 yet though!
