Yes, doing that caused the Difficulty and Effort indexes to reappear. Would my .ini that caused the indexes to result in zero help you debug the problem any? I did save it.

Any more thoughts?

Just wanted to bring this up in its own thread, no the "Color 0.003 tileset" thread so it can be better tracked. It is still occuring. Attached is a screen shot.

It was set to 0.2mph (I think that's default, I don't remember moving it). I changed it to 0.5, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0. None caused the difficulty or effort index to return. It's confusing because it has always working then just one day on files that use to have them they all suddenly disappeared across the board.

I believe so. It's right from my GPS. Attached is a screen shot of a hike I took with my daughter around the local park. I can send you the GPX if you'd like.

TopoFusion use to display to me effort and difficulty index, now it does not. They are all 0.000. Any thoughts on what could be causing that?

TopoFusion Pro / Re: linking seperate gpx tracks into one track.

You can use the Join Track tool. It's the toolbar icon that has an arrows pointing toward each other (one on the top, the other on the bottom) with a squiggly line between them. Simply click it, click on your first track, then your second, third, ... When complete, right click the new track and choose Save As.

TopoFusion Pro / Re: Track -> Route -> Dakota 20?
« on: July 11, 2011, 03:04:20 PM »
I think it's pretty easy to change the GPX track log as a route, I think it may be as easy as just renaming a few of the fields. I wonder if this would be more useful if there was also a simplify option when doing this conversion?

In the mean time, I've used GPSBabel to accomplish this task but it'd always be nice to be able to stick with just one problem instead of bouncing between multiple ones.

Thanks,

Jeremy

TopoFusion Pro / Log Notes do not always save
« on: July 01, 2011, 11:02:11 AM »
When entering a logbook note and then clicking "Edit Stats" (to change to "Hiking") the "Notes" field is cleared and not saved. The same goes for adding a note, then clicking "Compute Summary". Actually, the only way I have found that they do save is to add your note and close the dialog via the Window Close (X window decoration) or selecting a previous or next day.

TopoFusion Pro / Track -> Route -> Dakota 20?
« on: June 24, 2011, 05:42:34 PM »
When I use the GPS > Transfer dialog and ask it to Upload Track(s) and select "as Route", my track goes over as a track only. It does not appear as a valid route, but it does as a track log.

How can I send the track over as a route?

Mine is doing it now. I restart the app and it still has the zoom cursor. When I right click it turns to a hand for a split second before changing to the normal arrow cursor for selecting a menu item. Of course, when I select a menu item the cursor goes back to the zoom cursor. Changing to another tool and back to the pan tool does not fix the problem.

I do not remember what I did to make this happen. I am on version 4.20 Pro and on Windows 7.

APRS is a very popular protocol among ham radio operators and has only continued to grow, BTW... It would be fantastic to see support for it in TopoFusion.

Feature Requests / Disable "All US Cities" when zoomed out to X level
« on: June 20, 2011, 08:06:30 AM »
TopoFusion on my Quad Core i7 becomes very choppy and the map display is unusable when All Cities is enabled and you zoom out to cover a few states. There are so many cities that you become unable to see any map information or really much city information because the names overwrite each other.

How about an option to automatically disable GIS items based on the zoom level?

TopoFusion Pro / Re: Color Aerial 0.003 not downloading?
« on: June 20, 2011, 07:03:18 AM »
I just set it up to follow the Appalachian Trail from start to finish. It was doing really well but started failing at 1500 miles into it or so. This is the best it has ever done, far, far better than when I reported the problem, so maybe it's just server load.

A place I am waiting on right now is 43 12' 4.70" N x 67 19' 9.40" W

When in pan mode, it does not hang. Only in batch download. I do have many tiles now that say "Unable to display map for this location and tileset. The map may not exist or you may need to pan the map to this UTM zone. (Topo/Aerial maps cannot be displayed across UTM zones).

Oh, I should mention that on both systems, Desktop and Laptop, when doing a batch download and the error occurs "Error downloading from current server. Retrying in 60 seconds." TopoFusion will consume 100% of one core. Memory does not change. I cannot use the Cancel button. The only way I have been able to using TopoFusion again is to kill it via the task manager and reload.

Still seems to occur, on my laptop and desktop, both are Win7. Color 0.015 and up always download in an instant, Color 0.003 always gives me troubles, even when downloading by panning around.

Feature Requests / Re: Project File and/or "Unload All"
« on: June 18, 2011, 05:48:00 PM »
TopoFusion doesn't seem to have a user pluggable API, right? Thus, is the user simply using Windows calls to manipulate TopoFusion via its own standard user interface? I am a programmer by trade, and you know how it goes... if only I could tweak XYZ, things would be much better :-D

Feature Requests / Project File and/or "Unload All"
« on: June 18, 2011, 05:26:13 AM »
I just started using TopoFusion yesterday and already have collected various routes that I have hiked or are planning on hiking. Some for training, some in Ohio, some in Virginia, some in Pennsylvania, some in Georgia, etc... Rarely when I am planning a trip in Georgia do I care about wading through my local park hikes, the hikes in Pennsylvania, etc...

The feature would be the ability to save a file that could be as simple as:

Code: [Select]
ENABLE C:\Abc\Def\Xyz.gpx
DISABLE C:\Abc\Def\Abc.gpx
ENABLE C:\Abc\Xyz\123.gpx

When loading this file, TopoFusion would Unload ALL loaded files and load these files automatically setting the "Enabled" and "Disabled" checkboxes.

Then one can use the "File > Open Project", "File > Save Project" and "File > Close Project" menu items to Open, Save and Close these project files.

A simpler to develop, but not quite as versatile option, would be to add an "Unload All" button to the Active File List area right below the existing "Unload File" button. There is already an "Add All" button. This would allow one to (which I currently do) make directories such as "Training", "Local Hikes", "Weekend Trips in Georgia" directories containing related GPX files. Navigate to that directory, "Unload All" to unload all files and then "Add All" to load all the files in your "project" directory.

Feature Requests / Right Click Track, Save As...
« on: June 18, 2011, 05:13:18 AM »
Currently if you have a file with multiple tracks or a large track you have split into smaller tracks and wish to save a track to another file, you have to use the Merge Tracks tool, then right click on the map and say "Save As..." While this is not terribly difficult, it would be more intuitive and a few less steps to have the "Save As..." on the context menu of of commonly selected tools such as the pan tool.

i.e. When browsing around your map, after you've created your trail, just right click and select "Save As...". An example use is splitting a large trail, such as the Appalachian Trail, into smaller weekend/week hikes to be done in many different visits to the AT.

TopoFusion Pro / Color Aerial 0.003 not downloading?
« on: June 17, 2011, 10:02:01 PM »
It seems that Color Aerial 0.003 is not downloading? I have tried via the Batch Download Tool and also by zooming in and panning the map. Batch Download tool always reports "Error downloading from current server. Retrying in 60 seconds." When using the map pan feature, it downloads a few tiles then reports it couldn't download a tile and disables Internet Downloads. Re-enabling it, I get another tile or two before it disables.

All other map sets I have attempted to download have worked fine. These include Topo *, Aerial 1M-64M, LandSat *, MyTopo, Open Street Maps and Mapquest OSM.

Any thoughts on Color Aerial 0.003?
