KMZ Tiling of User Maps
« on: November 30, 2009, 07:35:20 PM »
The ice cream is wonderful, may we have more?

Is there a way to export a KMZ of tiled user maps? Right now it seems like we can export predefined tiled datasets (aerials, satellite, topographic maps), to allow for really big regions,  OR untiled user maps which have to be limited to ~1024x1024.  "Obviously" one could do the tiling manually but TF already knows the georeferencing... or is there an easy step that I'm missing?

I ask looking at my 10MP user map of a local park...

Steve-

The tiling does work with user maps, too.  The tiled export won't be specific to the user map (1:1), but if you choose a base tileset like topo 4 or topo 2, you should get full detail on your user map (unless it is very small scale, in which case you could try Color .0003 or even Urban 0.25).  Just zoom the current view to show the entire thing and make sure it's visible (enabled).

Let me know how it works for you.
