Features without labels
« on: November 09, 2009, 10:34:17 AM »
Lots of times I'd like to put a symbol (for a campground, boat ramp, etc.) without any name/label. I have not found any way to do this in TF. I don't know if this is due to a required field in the gpx standard. It would be really nice not to have to keep sticking in some generic default text for cases where I either don't know the name of the feature or just don't want the clutter of additional text.

Hmm, have you tried just using a single space character for the name?  As long as you don't have the white background on, that'll show up with no text label.

I think GPX does require a name field.  I suppose TF could have a "no label" code word that displays nothing, though.  Let me know if the space is good enough or not.

Well, how about that! I thought for sure that I had tried tricking it like that before without success. But it works! That's good enough for me. Thanks.
