Title: v. 3.82 on netbook runing Win 7
Post by: Larry on August 07, 2009, 08:20:31 AM
Hey Scott,

I just thought I would let you know that the latest beta runs like a champ on my Eee PC with the Win 7 RC 1 OS installed. That's working *great* too.  With this setup, and my TF prefs set back a bit, I think TF is running perhaps even better on this little machine than when I first started using it several years ago on my desktop at the time. It's really quite amazing.

Very cool.  I have an EeePC but it still has linux on it.  I need to go to windows and give TF a try.  Would love to see it running on the little computer.

Scott, Win 7 RC 1 is downloadable as a free 1 year trial version. It expires next August, but that's lots of time to play with Win 7. There are a number of web posts about installing it on an Eee PC; there have been a few minor issues, but on my machine, (a 904 HA), everything works, even the webcam. I just let the install do it's thing. The only Asus driver I used was the SuperHybrid power manager, which works fine. Win 7 supplied the rest. My no risk solution was to buy another hdd (not that expensive), and put Win 7 on that. I can always go back to the old OS anytime I want.
