Will the new Garmin 305 Forerunner be supported?
-
Absolutely. I'll be getting one (either 205 or 305) for my SO, who is a huge runner. She likes using the 201, but finds it too bulky to run with regularly.

Thanks for the reply. I hope Garmin starts shipping these things soon!

I got my 205 in the mail today -- if you need any beta testing of support for it just let me know!
It's _awesome_, by the way, at least as regards the promises of better reception. I live in an urban area (Cambridge, MA, near Kendall Square) and the 201 was almost unusable for me. The 205 locks on in <30 seconds in my house, and doesn't seem to get tripped up by some pretty harsh urban canyoning around my neighborhood. It held lock in my bank, so I tried going into an office building. It lost lock, but gained it again in under 5 seconds when I left the building more than 20 minutes later!

Cool! I will order mine up now that they are shipping.
If you could test the beta version (2.81) to see if it works, I'd appreciate it. If it requires the same fix as the LegendCX, 60CSx, etc, then it should work.
These new units should make GPS a whole lot more useful for runners. The stats in TF should make a lot more sense.

I just got a report that the Edge 205 works with the latest version of TopoFusion (2.81 or the just released 2.85). My guess is that it will work with the Forerunner 205/305 as well, but I have not been able to confirm this yet.
My Forerunner 205 is on order and should be arriving soon. So even if it doesn't work with the current version, it will soon enough.

A quick test seems to indicate that the Forerunner 205 works fine with 2.85! Thanks!

Excellent. Thanks for testing it out!
