User Added Maps Layered?
« on: August 13, 2007, 03:39:47 PM »
I am using the user added maps feature to overlay 2 layers of maps 1. more detailed color satellite imagery and 2. regular maps for the river basin (ramps, wing dams, buoys, etc).  These maps are small in size and I end up having to overlap them in order to position them correctly.  This works fine for the first few maps but after I get 5 or 6 positioned and I try to zoom back in to the detail layer they were placed at, some of the maps start to dissappear (in the reverse order they were added).  They reappear when I zoom back out.

Any ideas on how I can work around this or is there a setting that I can change?

Great program by the way...it has been a handly tool for river navigation. '<img'>

Glad you find the program useful.  It's always cool to hear from people using it for different things.

Interesting, thanks for reporting the problem.  I've not encountered or heard of anything like this.

What base map (in TopoFusion) are you using, or do you have other maps completely turned off?

I don't have a fix for the problem.  Worst case you could send me the maps, but first I will try to recreate it with several overlapping maps.

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response.

I'm using the Aerial basemaps and laying jpg's on top of them.  It doesn't happen on the first 3 or 4 but after 5 or 6.  I thought it had been that I was placing maps or calibration points at too high of a level (4M instead of 1M for example), but no matter how close I'm zoomed in when bringing the maps in or placing the calibrations it still acts this way.

I would be more than happy to send you the maps...just let me know!

Hi,

Right, the level of detail where you set the calibration points is not important.  But things do change when you change tilesets for display.

I tried adding 6 maps all overlapping and haven't seen any disappearing.

Can you send me the map files, and also your TopoFusion.ini file (so I can get the exact calibrations you are using)?

I'll see this once I get your files loaded, but are you using 2 or 3 point calibration?

Email to support@topofusion.com

Thanks.

Just sent you the email with the pics...I am using 3 point calibration on all the maps.
