downloading maps to use while offline
« on: May 23, 2005, 07:38:16 AM »
I am going to be away from reliable internet access for the next few months and need to download photos and topomaps for about 4-6 counties to copy to a cd for use on my laptop.
Determining how to download to a file and move to a cd is not a problem, however I cannot get the computer to accept more than about 100 megs before it starts to copy over the previous maps.
I have about 50gigs available on my hard drive and have the options menu set to use up to 50% of the available memory, yet it shows in this menue that I only have 150 megs available.
What am I doing wrong?, do I need to adjust something else?

Bob

Available memory is only referring to TopoFusion's cache of maps in memory, not on disk.  The disk cache (mapsX.dat) files are not limited.  Check their size and you should see them growing as you continue to load maps.
