OS in the UK have the rights to the 50k 25k and even 10k mapping. No doubt it would take endless agreements and licences and money to use this data but those minor things aside could topofusion pull data from a local source.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'local source', do you mean loading them off the hard drive as opposed to a server?
