Just a quick interruption on the diary here. I have a Coati Cat (ok, he’s just a cool cat named Coati) that is looking for a new home in Tucson or AZ. Here’s a bit that I wrote about him for an adoption page:
Coati still chases his tail around! A playful and somewhat shy Maine Coon cat, he’s a big boy: 17 pounds, but not fat. He’s just solid.
He is about eight years old, but still clownish and kitten like. He’s very sweet, a good lap cat that loves attention. He also likes other cats, and would love a sidekick to wrestle with and chase around on occasion.
He can be indoor/outdoor or both. He’s happy to stay inside, but also likes to cat around in the evening/night. He doesn’t get in fights and is street smart. Also well behaved with the litter box, so a good indoor cat. He doesn’t steal your food or get into things he shouldn’t. He just likes his cat food, and anything tuna related, of course! He loves to be brushed, though amazingly his fur doesn’t get very tangled or matted even if he isn’t brushed for a while. He’s really smart — I taught him to lay down when I pull out his brush and to roll over to his other side when moving the brush in a circle and saying “roll over!”
I rescued him off the street (found running across Speedway Blvd to be exact!) as a malnourished and sick kitten, and he has been very healthy ever since. I’ve been his only owner, and he has always been in AZ. I am leaving Tucson, will be traveling, and no longer own a home here. So unfortunately I am offering him up for adoption. Due to his rough start in life, he’s shy at first around new people and in new settings. He could really use a stable home that he can get used to and be happy in.

He’s an awesome cat, but he doesn’t like to travel or go to new places. I’m packing up to leave Tucson for a while, and I no longer have a place for him to stay. (He stayed in Tucson even when we left for the summer over the last 7 years or so). I’m also allergic to cats (not to mention palo verde and mesquite, which have been going crazy lately), so as sad as I will be, I’m afraid not having a cat is best for me right now.
Please pass the link on to anyone that might be interested. Thanks.
