More Catalina “FR” riding today with Louis. We hit some spectacular spots and rode some very hard lines.
I couldn’t get the camera out fast enough to catch him in action. Sometimes I’d just watch and shake my head. Impressive stuff.
We laid out a brand new line, complete with 3 foot drop, rock shelf and very steep slickrock switchback. It is a challenging one. Here’s Louis about to hit the switchback.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: he has his own style of riding. The western slopes of the Catalina Mountains are his playground and shaped him into the rider he is today. I can’t get enough of following his line through even the basic trails out there. I’ve been lucky to ride with him as much as I have.
For the immediate future I’m going to start putting more miles in. During today’s 5.5 hours on the trail we covered 12 miles. Not sure if that counts as ‘training’. I’m definitely sure that I could care less. But I do want to start doing some bigger (longer) rides. I don’t know if I can stay away from this stuff though.
Singleswizzle “race” is tomorrow. Might have to roll by and watch in awe at how fast those guys climb redington. See if I can hang on for a second or two.
