Beautiful morning today, as summer mornings in Tucson usually are.
I rode down the river trail with Paula to the far west side, then kissed goodbye as she headed to school. I turned left, bound for Tucson Mountain Park.
I approached through the main entrance, enjoying (hah) a view at the progress of Star Pass Resort Hotel ™. It’s clear that it is going to be one of the largest buildings in Tucson. All on top of one of the best trails in the park.
The new access is interesting–forcing you to ride up a nice steep hill to get back to the old access. I’ve been avoiding this access because of all the construction, but I had to go check it out today. It feels like it has been a long time since I’ve ridden at TMP–man I love looking at the valley and Cat Mountain. Bounce, bounce, bounce over the many rocks I go, then out through the TPW neighborhood.
Ah, the sentinel ridge trail.. backwards. It presented a nice little challenge, though a gentle bonk was settling in. But all that remained was a casual cruise through campus and back home.
People look stressed (finals!). I am not. No finals and, well, I’ve been riding bikes more than I’ve been working. Works for me. Also I’ve been daydreaming about the summer–a cyclo tour of some sort is in the works, possibly on the great divide. We’ll see.
