We have returned from the summer season in North Fork, working for the Salmon-Challis National Forest. As expected, the summer was incredible but short-lived.
We completed the inventory in the Bighorn Crags. We now have visited nearly all of the 70-some lakes as well as the Crag’s high point, Mt. McGuire.
Our last hitch was a short one. We had a few last off trail lakes to bushwhack to and an outfitter camp to inspect. Then we spent our last day making a feeble attempt to clear a huge (100 trees) blowdown from the Waterfall trail.

We will be putting together a Crags web page in the near future. We’ve got the most current data on all the trails and campsites.
We made the arduous journey back to Tucson and found it as expected–hot and humid. I am still dribbling along–trying to get used to and switch back into Tucson mode. It seems I am not able to quickly recover from the summer though. Riding and other Tucson adventures will have to wait a while longer. School starts soon as well.
We have not touched TopoFusion all summer. There are still a few bugs that we have fixed but we have yet to release a new version. That will happen soon. I’m sure that we will soon be facing the issue of TF’s future.
