Title: yahoo WMS configuration
Post by: Vipero00 on September 21, 2009, 12:04:46 PM
I just recently joined the Open Street Map project and am using TFpro to edit my GPS data. In wooded areas I use my GPS mounted to a mast on my back pack, walk the trail several times and then use the create network in TFP to average the tracks. From there I load into JOSM and place/correct trails. The JOSM (Java OpenStreetMap editor) uses the yahoo WMS to overlay great color. Is there a way to use Yahoo WMS in TFP?

I read up a bit on this and it seems there is no yahoo WMS server, they are actually displaying the images using a javascript (or flash) API.  So it does not appear there is going to be a WMS server/string you can just drop into any WMS application, like TopoFusion.

I am curious how they are doing and if there might be a way to do the same in TF.  Will plan to take a deeper look into it.

Thanks for the note.
