I'm trying to use TF to browse a directory of GPX files and rename the files adding a description, etc. to the names.
When I rename a file it doesn't just rename the file, it seems to resave the file which loses some of the original information in the file, the most important being the actual creator of the file.
Is it possible to rename the file without rewriting it?
Thanks,

Just an FYI since it appears this is not possible with TF but I found "GPS Track Editor" which, among a lot of other functionality, lets you simply rename the files while browsing. It is not an ideal workflow but it allowed me to get the job done.

Sorry I missed this and thanks for following up.
You are right, when you rename a file in TF it actually saves it back out using TF's save feature. This can lead to loss of some GPX data fields. Creator shouldn't be one of them though -- we preserve a couple "Author" fields -- from the original GPX spec. Which field is going away? Is it called creator?
