Waypoint text
« on: May 03, 2011, 08:31:01 AM »
Maybe I missed something in my search...but is there a way to hide the text from a waypoint and only have the symbol show?
I have some tight clusters of points and when zoomed out the text box covers most of the symbols. I got rid of the background and made the text grey but it still gets in the way.

Thanks.

Yep, if you open up the dialog for a waypoint's properties look at the "symbol" dropdown.  There's a choice for no dot (only text)

Wait, got it backwards!  Ha.  If you want to only have the symbol, just use a single space character for the name of the waypoint.

I'd still like the point named, just be able to toggle on and off the text.

However, shortly after I posted this I discovered that if I use Options->Preferences->Font->Chose waypoint text to display, I could choose description and those without descriptions would be textless. This worked for what i am currently trying to achieve.

Thanks for your reply Scott and I'm really enjoying this program you created. Jeremy
