Track question
« on: May 31, 2011, 08:25:21 PM »
I'm trying to determine what I did wrong when I uploaded a track.  The track displays OK and the data for the track shows in the dialog box.  However, no or time or speed shows up- total, moving, stopped, max, average, none of it is listed.  In the trip computer on the GPS it shows the data.  Any ideas what I did wrong?

Garmin Vista HCx by the way.

Thanks,
Blevin

When you upload a track it won't change the statistics in your trip computer -- trip computer is only for logging tracks on the unit.

Also when you upload to the 'saved tracks' area you lose time data, and elevation is not used as well.  It's pretty much only for the coordinates, to follow on the map.

Scott,

Thanks for the reply.  So if I understand, if I want to see my moving times. speed. etc. I need to upload my active track from the gps to Topofusion?

That's correct, I do not recommend using the "save track" button.  Just leave the data in your active log and download it from there.  Saved tracks lose time data.
