For some reason, I get a blank page when I chose the topo 2m option. It says downloading but nothing happens, other that maybe one tile that is present on screen. Any fix for that? My old eyes would appreciate it.

And for some reason, this only happens on my destop and not my laptop, both running Vista... Go figure...

Have you tried topo 2m in the exact same area, both on the desktop and the laptop?

There are a few areas of the country that don't have 2m topo.  It doesn't sound like that's the case here.

What's the video card on the desktop?  The other possibility is some kind of graphics card issue.  Updating video drivers is a possible fix.  Enabling the topo 8m tileset would tell you whether this is the case.  If topo 2m fails in this way, topo 8m should also.

Hi Scott:
It is the same area in the case of the laptop and desktop and all tiles are enabled in both. So I don't think it is a tile problem. Perhaps as you mentioned a video card although my ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series has the latest driver version 8.501.0.0 from 6/2/2008. So I don't know as I just can't use the 2m option anywhere I tried, geographically, well meaning on the map.

Hmm.

Do you ever get an error message popping up?  Can you confirm that topo 8m works?  (Downloads new tiles and displays).

There are a couple things to try.

One being check your screen depth.  Probably already 32bit, but if not, go to 32.

Second, in options->preferences, try changing the "Enable Texture Compression DXT1" option.  Restart TF and see if you have any better luck with those tiles.
