Open Aerial "Map Not Available"
« on: January 08, 2013, 04:43:39 PM »
Hello Scott,
Just an FYI.
As you know I live in Southern, AZ.
I noticed today that some open aerial tiles are not down loading when zoomed to a higher resolution.
Several would download then a missing tile or two.
Getting msg "Map not Available". There was a similar problem before.
The areas I noticed today were around Mt Hopkins and Mt Wrightson. In fact the Observatory is completely blank.
Also Area around elephant head, and parts of Gradner Canyon have missing tiles.
Roger
Thanks for considering adding the ability to draw in 3D

Roger, thanks for the report.  Always glad to have server updates.

This seems like a temporary one.  The server is sending tiles at lightning speed for me, right around Wrightson/Hopkins!

Hello Scott,
Yes, you're right. Downloads seem extra fast today.
I'm glad it was a temporary server issue.
However, take a look right over Mt Hopkins, looking down on Observatory, at high resolution, open aerial.
It's a blank...is that a sensitive/restrictive area?..a little paranoia on my part..
Thanks,
Roger

Try reloading your tiles there with the reload tool.  I just got fresh maps right on Hopkins.

Hello,
That took care of the problem.
Thanks for your time and help.
I guess Mt Hopkins is not an alien landing pad...JK.
