New Topo maps for 4.0
« on: July 09, 2010, 04:05:58 PM »
How does one purge the existing topo maps from the cache?

Tried unclicking a tileset and restarting the program. Looks like old tileset is in use.

There's no way to purge a specific tileset, unfortunately.  If you're worried about the space stored (and speed of the program, somewhat), I'd recommend just starting over with a new cache.

I've deleted my cache and selected a new directory.  I've searched and found the lat/long for saddleblanket mountain and created a waypoint.  The downloading of the Topo 2M is excruciatingly slow.  ButI can see that the old Topo map is appearing, not the new one on this page:

Topo 2M is slow?  Huh.

I guess the announcement wasn't quite clear that the myTopo maps are actually a new tileset.  The old maps are still available as the 2M, 4M, 16M, etc tilesets.

The new maps are available under "myTopo" in the drop down, or using the "M" key as a shortcut.
