MSR Maps will stay online!
« on: May 22, 2012, 11:25:37 AM »
I just received this good news via email.  I've not seen anything posted publicly on the MSR Maps site yet though.

Thanks to everyone who contacted us regarding their use of MSR Maps. We are going to keep the service going at this time - though the service will not be updated. However, we do need to move and upgrade the servers that are hosting the service today. This will likely cause some down time over the next few weeks. We will try to keep this down time as minimal as possible. Be assured, the service will come back up!

Thank you in advance for your patience.

Great news!  I will have to update TF again to reinstate the old tilesets for new installs.  Will get to that next week (heading out on the bike today).

Thanks for the post.

Is there an update to V4.5  to re-instate the old tilesets for new installs yet? If not what is my best route to get them back? Can I re-install V4.4 without having problems? I am going out this weekend and need maps!

Thanks for the nudge.  4.6 is out now with Terraserver tilesets reinstated!  Downloading well right now.

Scott,

Thanks for the updated version of Topofusion (v4.6).

Would it be possible to reinstate the MSR Topo in the Batch Download Tool?
BTW, the batch download still has a list of some map services that are no longer available, such as TIGER.

And a nice feature to the Batch Download Tool, would be the addition of the OpenStreetMaps, MyTopo, US Topo and so on.

Many thanks in advance,
Stefano and Marie-Catherine

Hi,

Oops, I intended to re-enable batch downloads, but it looks like it did not take.  Next release for sure...

Due to terms of use, we can't enable batch for myTopo and OSM... but US Topo, yes.

Thanks for the comment!

Please reinstate MSR topos and aerials in the combo-blending tool as well :)

Hey guys -- Just FYI -- 4.65 is out which reinstates the older tilesets in both combo mode and batch download.
