Merge Tracks
« on: January 16, 2013, 08:49:04 PM »
Hi,  I'm a new user.  I have two tracks that I want to merge so I highlighted the "join tracks" tool and clicked the two tracks in succession.  Nothing happens.  I've tried this a few times before and a couple times the new track would turn black with a yellow highlight.  When that would happen, I could not select the track to do anything with it and ended up closing the software, not saving and re-opening it then trying again.  Now it's back to not doing anything at all.  Am I missing something?

Also, when I'm editing points on a track, the "select points" tool will work in selecting a point to edit, but when I try the "select point (P)" tool, it does not do anything.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm not sure why tracks that you are clicking on with the join tracks tool would not be selecting.  If you change to the hand/pan mode and right click on the tracks do they highlight?  That should be using the same code and rules to select them.  One thing is you need to stay in the join tool mode in order to be able to save out or clear your merging.  If you switch to another tool mode it can be a little confusing -- the in process merged track will stay highlighted, but then you can't do anything to it without going back to the join tool.

Hope that helps.  If you're still having problems even selecting tracks, please post again and perhaps email me the file(s) you are trying to look at.  I'll take a look.
