I just purchased Topofusion and I have a Dakota 10 on order. While looking for free maps for the Dakota I stumbled across Oregon state topo maps at GPSFileDepot and the Northwest Trails map at Switchback.com. Both of these maps contain img files. How do I use img files in Topofusion?

.img is one format TopoFusion cannot read.  It's the format that Garmin's basemaps are in.  You should be able to use Mapsource (free) to upload the files.  There are only one or two programs that allow you to edit them, and not many that will even view/upload them since Mapsource is available.

Thanks for the info Scott. I've successfully calibrated/georeferenced a local snowshoe trail map to the Topofusion Color Aerial map. I then used the "Draw Track" tool in Topofusion to trace a few tracks of the snowshoe trails.

So it sounds like I use MapSource to load the base map to the Dakota and use Topofusion to load the snowshoe trail tracks that I created. I'm sure this will become more clear when my Dakota unit arrives and I can experiment a bit.

Yep, that sounds about right.  Have fun with it and don't hesitate to ask further questions!
