Color / Open Aerial maps download issue
« on: July 16, 2012, 11:05:19 AM »
Hello Scott,

There might be some issues that prevent me from downloading Color / Open Aerial maps when I increase the zoom to less than 2000 feet / 700 meters?

I have been traveling to various places in the West lately (we're currently in Scottsdale, AZ), and staid mostly in hotels. I know sometimes the hotels restrict the traffic allowed, but there should be no reason the download works for certain tiles (MyTopo) and not for others.

I already tried to start with a fresh TopoFusion.ini file, but it didn't help.

I attached to this post the TopoFusion.log file.

Best regards,

Stefano and Marie-Catherine

Open Aerial has been having some issues on the highest resolution set of tiles.  There is a user here (Roger) that has been working with them to try to get the tiles back online.  I don't think it's an issue with internet access.

The Color set has also had some issues lately, too.  Sorry about that.  It's not anything wrong with your system.

Hello,
As of today 7/31/They have not resolved the issue.
They (Lex)  keep asking for coordinates, which I send and they rarely reply.
I keep pointing them to a few miles east of Patagonia, AZ.
When they do reply they say they are looking at the issue.
They know an issue exits at the higher resolution open aerial tiles, at least here in Southern, AZ., but it has not been fixed.
I am having No problem with the colored aerials.
Roger

Hey guys,

I have a new version that corrects some server issues, especially with Color Aerial and US Topo.  I am still seeing holes in the Open Aerial coverage and have changed the software to display a "no map" message when that is the case.  So behavior is a little better (less waiting to see if tiles load), but hopefully they will work the bugs out eventually.

Thanks for the patience.

I'm a new user and am having the same problem with socal maps. The lower resolution aerial maps load fine, but they aren't of much use. I can get the black and white maps to load to a higher resolution but they aren't very clear.

Yes, I checked to see if i had any firewalls, and I deleted the anti virus program, I didn't care for it any way. Despite the forgoing, I still cannot get enough detail to draw track where I want. No offense, but I can find little use for this software without usable images.

Hi,

Sorry about the issue.  Which map type are you trying -- color aerial or open aerial?  The former should work for high resolution, but the latter seems to be hit and miss lately.

Thanks
Scott
