Title: area
Post by: johnsonjones on October 23, 2012, 06:57:26 PM
I just purchased topo fusion and was wondering how to calculate the area within my track? It is a very frustrating program and right clicking does not give me that option like other responses have stated. I have the pro version. Any help would be appreciated. >:(

You need to first draw a track around the area you wish to measure.  Do that using the draw / pencil tool.  The only trick here is that you need to right click somewhere (anywhere) on the map when you are done drawing, then you'll get a dialog that let's you choose "save as...".  Save the file out, then switch back to the regular hand/pan tool mouse mode.  You should now be able to right click anywhere on your new track and get a dialog that lets you choose "compute area."

Hope that helps!

I have tried this Scott , this is not working for me. Is there something wrong with the program. My buddy has the same program and he showed me it works just fine for him. Its been a while but its not that difficult to do you would think. I save a track I drew with the pencil then switched back to the hand (pan) and right click within the track and it gives me nothing????????????????????????

Let's see, I think you need to click *on the track* itself, not within it.  Try right clicking on the line that you drew.
