Title: Problem creating OpenGL
Post by: cthomas on April 11, 2006, 06:20:22 AM
I keep get this error Problem creating OpenGL texture, Max texture size=1024x1024, need 2048x1024. I have a ViewSonic VG910s and the hightest it will go is 1280x1024 and the video card is a Matrox PowerDesk version 6.95.005

This problem is due to a limitation of the driver, but doesn't have anything to do with the screen resolution you are in or the max your monitor can go to.

Unfortunately we can't really do anything about the limitation in TopoFusion.

When I try to download data from Edge 305, I get the following error.
"error initializing Com/USB port, check for other programs using this port and that device is connected and turned on."
I'm connecting using a USB post and I far as I know , no other programs are using this port.
any help would be appreciated.

By the way, some users have reported that updating to newer video drivers has taken care of this issue for them.

YMMV

I think this belongs in a different thread, but anyway..

The 305 is USB, yes.  Does the unit successfully connect with Training Center (garmin supplied program). With that error message it's likely there's just a problem with the connection.  Also, you will need to have installed the garmin USB driver (comes with the unit or can be downloaded off www.garmin.com).

Best guess it that you don't have the garmin usb driver installed.

Sorry about posting in the wrong thread, this all new to me.

I downloaded the drivers and still have the same problem.

PS: Which tread should I post this problem in.

I don't see how this can't be a topofusion problem, as the demo worked fine, and now that I purchased the basic version, and it gives me the message stated above.

It's both a TopoFusion and a driver issue.  TF Basic's 3D works just fine if your video card can handle relatively large textures (i.e. isn't several years old).

Sounds like maybe you were using the demo for TF Pro, then bought the Basic version?  The 3D code is completely different between the two versions, and Pro doesn't have the same limitation.

It's confusing, I'm sorry.  Did you try updating video drivers?  What video card do you have?

BTW, I am going to move this thread to the TopoFusion Basic forum, since this forum is technically closed.  Please look for it there.

Thanks.
