Title: garmin nuvi trip log download
Post by: trailz on October 29, 2013, 08:42:25 PM
I have a nuvi 1300 and can download gpx trip log files to topofusion -- no problems.  Just got a new nuvi 2495 and cannot do that.  TF does not recognize the trip log on the nuvi --- trip trace shows on the nuvi.  Anyone had any experience with this?

That's strange.  It's possible the trip log just isn't accessible on that particular Nuvi.  When you connect the GPS does it come up as a USB drive?  Can you find the trip log as a .gpx file (usually Current.gpx)?

Thanks for your reply;  It comes up as a usb drive and shows a current gpx folder but there is no trip log, or anything else in it (maybe it shows Europe continent that cannot be zoomed in).  I read in some forum to change the MTP settings from auto detect to Mass Storage for the later models.  Haven't tried that --- my unit is mounted in the car at the moment.

OK, I have tried again and cannot duplicate the problem.  It downloads the trip log ok.  Do not know why there was a problem the first time I tried it.  Changing MTP settings does not seem to have any effect on the trip log ---- can download either way.  Anyway, no problem now.  Thanks for your attention.
