Feature Requests / Fit write support
« on: June 05, 2016, 11:24:20 PM »
Since Garmin is using .fit files for courses on their newer devices it would be nice if TF supported writing those files, too. This is especially needed because Base Camp can't manage up and downloading without creating duplicate files which are a pita to deal with.

TopoFusion Pro / OSM font size
« on: July 20, 2012, 06:47:46 PM »
Is there a way to adjust the font size on OSM labels? At most zoom settings they are too small for me to read. I got on wiki OSM and found them much more readable. I'm on Pro, 4.60. Thanks.

TopoFusion Pro / Stretch, dilate, expand, shorten, etc. a track
« on: March 21, 2011, 09:16:42 PM »
Sorry if this is a repeat, but I searched a bunch and didn't find any way to expand/contract a track to match a desired length.

FYI, the rationale is in trying to convert a gpx to a Computrainer course, the jittery GPS altitudes make the course impossible to do as recorded because of all the shifting required by grade changes. So I took an 1161 point course and reduced it to 80 and now the altitudes and grades look reasonable for a trainer ride. However the course shrunk from 12.5 mi. to 10.?. I'd like to get it back to the real length. BTW, Cycling Peaks Real3D has this feature. Their algorithm seems to take sharp corners and extend one segment so most of the track points stay in the same place. I realize the lat/longs would be wrong, but all that is really needed is that distance and grade work. An alternative would be some kind of extreme smoother for altitude, I guess.

Garmins are really sensitive to timestamps in pasted segments of a course. It seems to sort by timestamp so a segment in the middle ends up at either the beginning or end with long straight shots connecting the pasted parts and more straight shots from beginning or end to the segment. I found how to strip them (Thanks!) and then export fabricates the timestamps, but at what appears to be an arbitrary speed. In addition to notifying that fabrication may occur, it would be nice to have a dialog to enter the speed, start/end time, or whatever. Maybe turn the properties remove button into a dialog that has none, defaults to existing start time and then defaults existing end time or speed.

This might open up the possibility of fudging timed virtual races, but a constant speed would be a dead give away.

BTW, I couldn't load the final version of the 2011 Antelope Peak course on my Garmin, probably because of the pasted highway section.

I've tried gpx2crs and it only seems to create a valid .crs about 1/3 of the time. I have a 310XT with ANT Agent and would be happy to help with testing.
