Feature Requests / Support of new FIT data types
« on: September 20, 2015, 02:29:18 PM »
Strava and Garmin have introduced Live Segments.  The FIT files contain lat, long, time, and even segment leaderboards. I would like to see the segment on a map and the time data.

TopoFusion Pro / Re: Elevation differences between Strava & Topofusion
« on: September 20, 2015, 09:04:18 AM »
The problem is that DEM data does not account for man's alteration of the topography (or bridges).  The uncorrected elevation from a barometric GPS should be taken as reality.

Feature Requests / Would like a new X-axis option on profile
« on: January 05, 2015, 09:21:56 PM »
I wanted to examine a problematic GPX file and was hampered by lack of visibility to the data.
(Case A)
If time points have been stripped from the file the only X-axis option is distance.
If the lat-long is not changing then the profile does not advance but net climbing accumulates and jumps up when the lat-long changes!
(Case B)
If the file has time points and the X-axis is time the profile looks normal (with climbs and descents) but the net climbing is frozen (TF sees no lat-long movement) opposite from Case A.

But for this and situation and others I would like to see the Track # and Point # as an X-axis option to better coordinate with the file properties.
Or have Track # and Point # always displayed with any other X-axis.
Secondary option - sync a point on the profile with the track on the map and the file properties. The latter two are already synced.

Feature Requests / Course Points (Cues?) on the Edge 800
« on: January 13, 2013, 01:26:32 PM »
On the Edge 305/705 I once used courses (.CRS) that had embedded cues.  Training Center assigns properties to course points that serve as cues. TC seems obsolete and not precise anyway so how does one do the equivalent with the Edge 800, preferably with TopoFusion?
I've read that the 800 supports cues in TCX files but I don't have any file to try.  Some web sites say "not yet".
Any hope of TF helping?

Feature Requests / KML needs altitude field
« on: April 01, 2011, 12:33:32 PM »
Save as KML does not include altitude.
Loaded KML from Google Earth does not show altitude.

KML from Google Earth has altitude.
Google Earth restores altitude when reading its own KML.

Please support altitude (in or out).

TopoFusion Pro / Re: Strange result from spline

Stripping restored the Climbing Alt., in fact it increased to 680' likely due to the same cause.  :)
thanks.

NB The profile tool also shows increase to 680'.

TopoFusion Pro / Strange result from spline
« on: February 24, 2011, 12:50:59 PM »
I applied spline to a gpx file (looking for a smoother looking profile.)
Carelessly I splined the same file again greatly increasing the number of points.
In the active file list the Climbing Elev. shrank from 650' to 18' yet when the profile tool is applied to the track the Total Climbing is 650'.   Not a big deal but shouldn't the statistics be equal?

so far anywhere in socal. e.g. 34.45N 188.45W
TF is OK on win XP 32bit
TF has the 3D problem on Win7 64 bit. <<<<<---

Nothing was changed between screens.

(except for missing data)

Here is the 2D view - fills screen.

check out the truncated freeway (lower right) for comparison with 3D.

it's not elevation.

An entire band of tiles have been dropped from the image - equal to the black hole on the right side.

Beta Testing / Elevation tiles vs. 3D
« on: September 26, 2010, 07:54:46 PM »
The shading changes mid-screen when in 3D mode - across a N-S line.

Appears as if the gradient options aren't the same for all tiles (in 3D mode).

Elevation was not slow enough to be annoying on my system.  (Q6600 2.4GHz).  In fact it does OK on my Win 7 laptop.

The really annoying thing is how long it takes TF to exit (not just beta version).  10's of seconds.

if the renaming just changes the CASE of a letter.

What did you use to capture the video?

TopoFusion Pro / Re: New Topo maps for 4.0
« on: July 09, 2010, 05:09:04 PM »
I've deleted my cache and selected a new directory.  I've searched and found the lat/long for saddleblanket mountain and created a waypoint.  The downloading of the Topo 2M is excruciatingly slow.  ButI can see that the old Topo map is appearing, not the new one on this page:

TopoFusion Pro / New Topo maps for 4.0

How does one purge the existing topo maps from the cache?

Tried unclicking a tileset and restarting the program. Looks like old tileset is in use.
