I was having trouble in far east Southeast AZ. But I see that the downloads are working now, so I would say that the problem looks fixed, and I am just now seeing variable up/down/speed/timeouts from some servers.

Congratulations on fixing the general problem!

Ok, I am up to 3.971, I think I have seen some previously failed color aerial downloads succeed, but mostly I am seeing can't connect to server. This brings me back to my previous question, what about default application settings (in this case, what are the proper map server names?), or, do changes in items like the list of server names which ship with a new code version get overridden by my configuration for the previous code version?

In short, do I need to know a list of map server names that may not be showing up after my upgrade?

I am upgraded to 3.97, no apparent change in symptoms.  I am wondering if older map files need to be deleted/redownloaded. Also, how much of the symptoms that people are seeing could be simply that the maps/color aerials really are not/were not on the server, or that the symptoms are otherwise caused by the server datasets, not the application?   I also recall that way back before my last two upgrades(before there was batch downloading) I did not have these symptoms.

On a related note, is it reasonable to have a "recommended settings" file for the app? I assume a new install of the app will have the preferred application config already set, but I don't know if an upgrade changes the previous application configuration settings.

Hello all - I am on V3.85. I still have large problems with "holes" in the color maps. Scott, can you summarize the issues of application version, (old) data versions/types/directories, states, map servers, application configuration settings?

If this can be solved, what do I need as far as application version, application configuration, map servers, deleting old data, repeating area downloads, anthing else?

Otherwise, I have excellent functionality and performance.

thanks, I believe you are correct, I recall the download requests during color aerial, can't recall during topo.
Sounds like I should have used the topic "Batch downloads".  Any best guess on when :-) for the color and 3D/DEM batch downloads?  Given the server load issue, and assuming the server isn't going to manage the loads, could the client copies use timeslots or random timers to allow users to define their requests without loading the server too much?

TopoFusion Pro / Offline downloads - holes

Hello, I am a new user (demo, 3.80, W2K, Thinkpad R51)(a few weeks);  I am seeing offline downloads complete, but later panning and zooming of topo and color aerials in the downloaded area result in download requests, with function then blocked if internet is not available.  Tile preferences are set to default, with the addition of the deselection of landsat. I'm not sure the 3D "data source" setting matters, I had it set on "use local if available". 3D pan/zoom seems to work without download requests.

BTW, the topo/photo image function is terrific. Anyone know of a for-pay/public/internet cafe setting where 10MB-100MB speed is available? (no fast corporate connection at the moment).
