Archived Support / 3.0 .exe corrupt error
« on: February 18, 2007, 06:36:11 AM »
TF 3.0 would hang when working offline when panning to an area not downloaded, had to use taskmanager to exit.
Uninstalled 3.0 and reinstalled it, works fine now.

That was the problem, was not getting the complete file, was under 3 meg.  Got the file attached to an email, installed without error.  Had a small glitch when opening TF, have MS's PSDK, needed the CD to confirm it was installed, now TF 3.0 opens without a problem.
Have Zone Labs for security, have not had a problem with incomplete files before.

Good program, thanks for the extra effort that is sometimes necessary.

Have downloaded 3.0 .exe 6 times with Firefox and IE.
This is the error each time:
NSIS Error
The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete.
This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.

You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.

It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch
(NOT RECOMMENDED).

Have even tried it from the command line with the /NCRC and get same error.

You could email to neilnln@hotmail.com but apparently the bug is in the installer, what have you put in the installer that would require " - skip this check - "??

Tried downloading TopoFusion Pro 3.0 twice, both times got the error " - corrupted or incomplete."
Have 2.97, downloaded and installed without problems.
Have all the latest directX updates, enough to run Nasa WW 1.4.
What could be the problem with the 3.0 .exe?

Here is a link to a site where the issue of baud rate and being able to connect to programs are covered.

I was wrong again, the baud rate for many are 4800.
Holux SirfStar III, some are 38400 default.
Had mine all set for 38400, just trial and error changing till it matches any particular program, TurboFusion seems to be very good, after trying many this is the one I bought.

This is a reply to an older post but it may help someone with a similar problem.
Most USB receivers with the Sirf II chips have a baud rate of 38400 default.  With SiRFDemo, can be downloaded, change the receiver to 9600 NMEA.  Do not know if SiRFDemo will work with the Sony chips, try it or check with Sony.
Maybe someday TopoFusion will accept the 38400 baud rate, or could loop thru the different baud rates to see what the receiver is sending at like u-blox does.
If the baud rate is wrong TF gives an error message the port is in use when it is not.
USB receiver with a Laptop or Notebook computer is a good combination, with TF even better.

Very good, need that feature.

Also you might link the downloaded manual to the help button, it now goes to your website.  I just open that file (from the hard drive) when not connected to the internet.

Good program!  Is it written in C?

Just installed 2.97.
USB receiver, the driver emulates serial.
Have not downloaded data from the receiver, was not aware the GPS mouse would store any tracks or waypoints.
Wanted to make the track as the notebook attached to the receiver is moved.
Tried about five other programs before buying TopoFusion, they would all make the tracks, I must not have something set right or not pushing the right buttons.
Like this program, fast and uses minimal CPU time.

Have v2.95, unable to get tracks drawn for gps movement.
Clicking on "Toggle View Status(tracks)" button shows or hides tracks drawn by hand, but unable to get any tracks drawn by gps movement.
Receiver for gps is OK, it follows the location of gps receiver on the map.  What needs to be done to record and display the track(s)??
